Another day, another adventure. I was working on a blog entry when, at about 2:00 am, my server's network connection went down. And of course I was in the middle of some non-interruptible disk operations at the time that required several hours to complete.
The past twenty-four hours have been a bit of an adventure. First, I lost the file system on the backup disk drive on my server. As near as I can tell, this was not caused by a hardware failure, but looks like a hiccup in the ext4 file system. I had taken the system down to boot into Windows because I was having trouble with an SD card from my digital camera (it wouldn't read under Windows either; I eventually brought my laptop in and read it without difficulty on that system). When I rebooted, I got a superblock error that I couldn't make go away with fsck.
