Dissertation, 2014-2016

Worksheets from the dissertation research, which employed a subset of discourse-historical analysis on conservative articles on unauthorized migrants. These are rough, initial analyses of articles selected from the collection tabulated here.

These worksheets were initially produced using a TECO macro available here. I then filled in the blanks as I analyzed each article. These worksheets are quite long relative to the original material. When I returned to these analyses in the course of writing the dissertation, I chose to write a second macro, available here, to produce a shorter, neater table without all the inserted questions (and their answers) that could easily be referred to by a reader. I then inserted these shorter, neater tables at the top of the worksheets, separated by a horizontal line.

The shorter, neater tables are what I actually include in the dissertation. The worksheets are available through the links above.
